Today I was fortunate to enjoy a ship inspection of the Celebrity Solstice a ship owned by Royal Caribbean cruise line. This is one of the bigger ships that sails Australia waters from October to April each year.
The Celebrity Solstice is only 5 years old and is one of the most modern ships cruising Australian waters. The ship carries over 2850 passengers but it gave a feel of ample space with many bars, restaurants, quiet areas and plenty of room on deck for enjoying the sun. I had the opportunity to view a few state rooms and see the different decks, pool areas, kids clubs, entertainment, fitness and spa areas. The ship decor was very modern and luxurious. It also had many personal touches throughout the ship
Tipping is compulsory and all ship charges are in USD dollars. Anytime dining or set times available in the main dining room with two formal nights per 7 days.
There are six specialty dining restaurants on-board.
This ship is suitable for the whole family with many activities for all ages. There is so much entertainment for everyone – * Adults only pool area which is fully enclosed * Outdoor pool areas and whirlpools * Day spa, fitness centre, jogging track and solarium * Basketball court * Hot glass show * The Lawn club with real grass suitable to play lawn bowls, croquet and enjoy a picnic * Solstice Theatre with a variety of shows * Fortunes Casino * Sky Observation Lounge, Martini Bar and Crush, Sunset Bar, Passport bar, Cellar Masters, Michaels Club and Quasar nightclub * Specialty restaurants including Blu restaurant, Tuscan Grille restaurant, Silk Harvest restaurant and Murano restaurant * Other restaurants are Cafe al Bacio & Gelateria, Bistro on Five, Oceanview Cafe and Bar and Grand Epernay Dining room * 24 hour room service at no extra charge * Duty free shops, Library and Fitness centre.
